5 quotes to live by in 2021

from Lauren and Georgia’s own stash of inspo…

Success is a mindset, so, your biggest asset on the way to your dreams is your attitude.. It can be hard, however, to be in the right frame of mind for success, all of the time (the road to your goals is one littered with hills and roadblocks, we know) – that’s why you should *always* have fallback quotes in your repertoire to pull you out of lulls and push the accelerator on your journey. Who better to learn from, after all, than your heroes, who jumped the exact same hurdles to achieve their dreams?

So, we sat down with Lauren and Georgia to bring you the quotes and sayings that drive them to achieve big successes every year (even on the days they don’t feel like it), in the hope that you can post these up on your wall and live by them every single day of 2021.

1. “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” – Arthur Ashe

With the new year comes the age old tales that we insist on telling ourselves: I’ll write that blog when I [insert lame excuse here] or, I’ll quit that job I hate when [blah blah blah] – and we get it, it’s a heck-of-a-lot easier to procrastinate than to actually *do* (and it shuts that negative voice in your head up, for now). BUT, you already have everything you need to achieve the life of your dreams – so, if this is you, pin this quote up on your wall and remember that you can (and should) start exactly where you are, even before you feel ready.

You can’t be great if you never start.

2. “Great things don’t come from comfort zones.” – Roy T. Bennett

Let 2021 be the year that you break out of that comfort zone and jump at every opportunity that comes your way.

When an opportunity comes up that scares you, or that you don’t feel ready for, then you definitely need to take it – this is how we grow, and without growth, we stay exactly where we are.

3. “We may encounter many defeats, but we must not be defeated.” – Maya Angelou

And another time for the people in the back!

Failure is something that we, as creatives, need to get used to. It’s not something to fear, but something that is an inevitable part of our journey.

So, you got knocked back on a pitch, or rejected on a proposal to a big brand, or your business is growing slower than you hoped – this is all a part of the process of being creative. Failure helps us to grow, gain resilience and to refine our skills. It’s much better to look at failure as a pit stop on the way to success.

Failure is a stepping stone, not a stumbling block.

4. “The most successful people are always asking questions. They are always learning. They are always growing. They are always pushing.” – Robert Kiyosaki.

Robert Kiyosaki, as the author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad and a multi-million dollar businessman, has the authority to talk about success, and his words are words of wisdom.

If you follow Lauren and Georgia on Instagram, you’ll know all-too-well that they are *all* about self improvement. They hire coaches, attend events to upskill and are constantly learning about both of their respective fields and biz. On top of this, the girls are huge on personal development, and if you want to succeed, you should be too.

Make 2021 the year you never stop learning, because the most successful people are always learning and growing.

5. “The best way to predict your future is to create it.” – Abraham Lincoln

2020 was a bi*** of a year, for everyone, but it taught us SO many lessons, and this quote, said first by Abe Lincon was one of them.

If you’re going out for yourself in business, as a creative or otherwise, this is a quote you need to save for 2021. Being self-employed can be a scary business, but, by working for yourself, you are creating your own future and living your own dream.

The hard work is worth it for the power you will have over your own future.

There you have it!

The quotes that you 100% need to keep visible so you can smash your goals this year.

Oh, whoops. We almost forgot – here’s a bonus quote for anyone that is second guessing chasing their own dreams this year:

“If you are lucky enough to find a way of life you love, find the courage to live it.” – John Irving

We hope, this year, you find the courage to chase that life you’ve always wanted.

You’ve got this.
